Paediatric First Aid Course (6hr)

This course is comprehensive, interactive and fun. The course focuses on emergency scenarios that are faced by nannies, childminders, nanny/housekeepers and people who work with young children. What you will learn?

The course covers how to deal with accidents and emergencies involving young children.

  • Roles and responsibilities of a first aider
  • Incident and casualty assessment
  • Recovery position
  • Infant, child and adult resuscitation (CPR)
  • Infant, child and adult action for choking
  • Unconscious casualty
  • Management of a seizure
  • Anaphylaxis shock awareness
  • Shock
  • External bleeding

Training Location

We are based in London Victoria, about a 10-15 minute walk from the main train station.

Blended Paediatric First Aid Course (12hr)



Our First Aid 12 hour Paediatric course is 6 hours in the classroom and 6 hours via e-learing. The classroom session is taught in a very hands-on manner which makes it particularly suitable for people for whom English is not their first language. Our course will equip you with the skills to be able to recognise and respond to a first aid emergency safely and efficiently.

Who is it for?

This course is designed for professional childcarers that work as nursery practitioners, childminders, crèche workers, playscheme staff or those working in a daycare setting. It is an accredited course that provides certified training to meet OFSTED requirements and also meets the requirements for Paediatric First Aid outlined in the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) 2014.

Course Content

The classroom based content is as above for the 6 hour paediatric course. The e-learning content covers the following, for children and babies:

  • Dealing with emergenices
  • First aid kits
  • Resuscitation for baby, child and adult
  • Unconscious casualty and recovery position
  • Choking in adult, child and baby
  • Allergies, anaphylaxis, meningitis and asthma
  • Types of wounds
  • Broken bones, fractures, sprains and dislocation
  • Poison
  • Burns and bleeding
  • Head, neck and back (spinal) injuries
  • Seizures, body temperature and coping with an unwell child
  • Diabetes and sickle cell

Course Timing

The course starts with 1 day in the classroom, which will take place on the dates below, running from 9:45am-3:45pm. ID required, please bring this with you when attending.

Those attending a course might be refused entry should they arrive more than 15 minutes late.

Following attendance of the classroom session the 2nd half of the course will be emailed to learners for completion.
