This is a Continuing Professional Development course which looks at how to provide a healthy diet for children and dealing with common problems around food. There is plenty of time to ask questions and reflect on current practice, benefiting from the presence of our highly qualified trainer.
The course is suitable for all nannies, au pairs, maternity nurses, childminders and nursery staff as well as parents and grandparents who want to learn more about child nutrition.

The course addresses the problems with young children’s diets today and current nutrition guidelines. You will then practice planning a healthy menu for a young child and deepen your understanding of food labeling. Combining your theoretical knowledge with practical situations the course then looks at how to make healthy choices, which children can be fussy about food and how you can manage this. Recipes and cooking tips are also included.
Julia Wolman is a registered nutritionist specialising in baby and child nutrition. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Applied Human Nutrition and a Masters in Psychology & Health and is registered with the Association for Nutrition as well as being a member of SENSE. Julia’s passion for promoting healthy eating in children has seen her working with the NHS to deliver healthy eating projects for families and training schools, nurseries and children’s centres, co-develop the internationally successful obesity prevention programme for 2-4 year olds with MEND Central and write for publications such as Nursery World, Practical Professional Childcare and Practical Parenting. In 2011 Julia founded Teeny Tummies which focuses on supporting parents through weaning, fussy eating and other child nutrition issues. Julia effortlessly transmits not only knowledge but also a passion for healthy eating in her training sessions for HATA.
